I will grade your research papers according to the following formulae:<p>

I.<br>

The grades on the two versions of your first research paper will be 
computed together,<br> 
<ul>
<li>the first version worth <b>40%</b> and<br> 
<li>the second worth <b>60%</b>.<p>
</ul>

If this causes any problems, we will develop a new formula together for 
the final research paper.<br>

II.<br>
Grades for individual research papers will be made up of the 
following:<p>

Content 70%, of which<br>
<ul>
<li>20% is for the basic idea (as expressed primarily in your thesis),<br>
<li>30% is for the quality of your argument, and<br>
<li>20% is for the quality of your evidence/authority, that is, your 
library and other sources and the way they are presented.<p>
</ul>
Writing quality 30%, of which<br>
<ul>
<li>10% is for organization,<br>
<li>10% is for clarity, and<br>
<li>10% is for correctness.<p>
</ul>
Again, if this formula doesn't work well on the first paper, we can 
negotiate a revision.
